The Budweiser Bar was named after the company that donated funding to help prepare the coastal freighter Olive M. for use as an artificial reef. Originally built in 1968 as the Havel by German shipbuilder Deutsche Industriewerke A.G., she w a s 168.9 feet long, 27.9 feet wide, and displaced 384 tons gross. In 1977, the vessel w a s sold to the Bahamian company Miami  Caicos Shipping, Limited, and renamed the OliveM. She was eventually appropriated by the Palm Beach County Artificial Reef Program, who razed the superstructure prior to scuttling the vessel on July 16, 1987. The wreck of the Budweiser Bar rests in close proximity to both the Captain Tony and the Castor. Departing from the stern of the Budweiser Bar, divers swimming approximately 600 feet to the northwest along a concrete rubble trail will encounter the Captain Tony; swimming approximately 500 feet to the east-northeast, divers will find the Castor. Scattered remains of the 70-foot salvage boat Swordfish canal so be found off the bow of the Budweiser Bar wreck.
